Hi there! Welcome – and Thank You for visiting my About page. I’ll keep this short and sweet. Kinda.
My name is Nanette Thorell, but everyone calls me Nan. Originally from California, I now live in my own home, in a small mountain community in the piñon and ponderosa forests of New Mexico. The impossible blue skies, breezy cool pines, fresh mountain air and clear starry nights allow for a clarity of mind and peaceful existence that I thrive on. If you’re curious about the house, I took pictures during the construction and posted them at my Log Home New Mexico website.
I am schooled in Commercial Art, which developed into an interest in what is commonly called Internet Sales and Marketing. I can see your eyes glazing over right now – stay with me. It’s an overused and generic phrase, but it’s accurate. IS&M was not my original intention when I first put my foot on this path many years ago, but here I am anyway. In a nutshell, one might describe it as “getting folks to buy your stuff“.
I started out where a lot of others in this particular tribe started out – on eBay. I’ve been an eBay seller since 1998. I branched out to Amazon as a marketplace seller sometime around 2003. And I added Etsy to my list of venues in 2005. At this point, I have three sales channels at eBay, one at Amazon, and two at Etsy.
I started writing this blog for many reasons, but if I had to narrow it down to one objective, it would be: to get stuff outta my head and maybe help someone in the process. In this blog, I will share my selling techniques, my successes, and failures, things that work for me, mentors I read and follow, and – when that gets to be too much like work – some small-town stories, and single-woman-living-in-the-forest household hacks.
That’s about it – thank you for visiting, and reading my About page.
